As well as providing the usual guidance and direction to employers on Fire Safety within the workplace we also provide the service of a qualified and experienced Fire Engineer.
The building Standards allow for alternative solutions to meet the relevant technical standards contained within the technical handbook. Not all buildings are the same and sometimes an alternative solution has to be agreed to allow the construction project to get under way. Being Fire engineers we can review a proposed design and make recommendations that should be safe, easy to implement and cost effective.
Further to the above a requirement of the procedural Handbook states when the application for a building warrant is submitted after the 1st October 2013. The ‘relevant person’ must submit a Fire Safety Design Summary (FSDS) with the completion certificate. As a qualified Fire Engineer we can advise on this requirement and provide a third party assessment of the details contained within the document. Where designers are not comfortable in compiling such information we can carry out this function and provide this in a manner the Building standards officer should be happy to accept.
